How to add NoFollow to the WordPress Blogroll

Written by Malin on April 30th, 2008 -

I have just posted a little tutorial on how to add NoFollow to your WordPress blogroll over at Dowan.org. If you want your WordPress to automatically add the attribute nofollow to your blogroll links, you should head over and read it!

Why add nofollow?
As suggested by Google, it’s best to use rel=”nofollow” to avoid any potential backlash from the external links in the blogroll. However, I should also mention that there is some very strong criticism against it as well. This is up to you if you want to use it or not. If you decide to, here is how to get WordPress to automatically add the attribute nofollow to your blogroll links.

Written by Malin on March 29th, 2008 -

WordPress 2.5 is out now! And it has been available for an hour or so. I’m going to upgrade one of my sites to see how it goes, I’m quite curious!

Remember to backup your files before you upgrade!
If you need help on how to backup your files, then you can check the WordPress Codex on How to backing up your WordPress site.

Good luck with it!

Preparing for WordPress 2.5

Written by Malin on March 10th, 2008 -

WordPress logoWordPress version 2.5 is said to be released today, there are a few hours left, but I still haven’t seen anything. I think it will be delayed though.

Anyway, it is time to prepare for the update! As we all know by know, the new version might not work with all plugins or themes.
Lorelle VanFossen has written a really nice WordPress Upgrade Preparation Checklist. If you are not sure where to start, the list will be valuable to you!

The list includes steps like checking compatibilities, doing a PreFlight test, disable and/or remove old plugins and the most important step of all - BACKUP!
