6 Favorite Gmail Scripts and Tools
Written by Malin on January 7th, 2008 -
Even if I kind of have a hate/love relationship with Google, I just can’t let go of Gmail. It’s the best free email service I have ever tried. And what makes Gmail even better are all those Greasemonkey scripts and tools for Firefox that makes the Gmail experience delicious. Here are my 5 favorite Gmail scripts and tools:
- Better Gmail 2 - A compilation of the best Greasemonkey enhancements for the NEW Gmail interface, compiled into one extension. If you are still using the old interface you might want to try Better Gmail 1.
- Gmail Manager - Allows you to manage multiple Gmail accounts and receive new mail notifications. Displays your account details including unread messages, saved drafts, spam messages, etc. Quite useful if you have several Gmail accounts.
- Gmail Google Calendar sidebar - Adds a sidebar to Gmail that displays your upcoming events/appointments from Google Calendar. Useful for me since I add all my advertising expiration dates to the calendar so it’s good to see them instantly.
- Gmail Multiple Signatures - Inserts signature above any quoted messages and also applies different signatures for writing Gmail messages when different From: address is chosen. Since I have several websites and different emails for each, this is a huge time saver!
- Send To Gmail - With one click, you can back up any file you want from your computer to your Gmail account.
- GMail Real Estate - Don’t like the ads, navigation bar or the header? With this you can disable 3 of them.
