My very own t-shirt shop

Written by Malin on April 20th, 2008 -

Did you know that there are several services where you can start your very own t-shirt shop? I just made one over at spreadshirt.net and I thought it was quite fun. I just need to figure out some nice slogans and geeky texts to put on the t-shirts.

What text would you like to have on your very own blogging t-shirt?

Rotate Your Avatar!

Written by Malin on February 2nd, 2008 -

avatarHave you ever wondered that some users avatars on forums changes each time the page reloads? Then you are not the only one. And no these users aren’t sitting by their control panel changing it all the time. They are using a PHP script to do it.

Bubs just posted her little PHP Avatar Rotation Script (there are many others out there) so if you want a rotating avatar, head over and read her instructions. Notice that it only works for forums that allow off-site avatars and if you have your own server to upload your PHP file on.

6 Favorite Gmail Scripts and Tools

Written by Malin on January 7th, 2008 -

Gmail

Even if I kind of have a hate/love relationship with Google, I just can’t let go of Gmail. It’s the best free email service I have ever tried. And what makes Gmail even better are all those Greasemonkey scripts and tools for Firefox that makes the Gmail experience delicious. Here are my 5 favorite Gmail scripts and tools:

  • Better Gmail 2 - A compilation of the best Greasemonkey enhancements for the NEW Gmail interface, compiled into one extension. If you are still using the old interface you might want to try Better Gmail 1.
  • Gmail Manager - Allows you to manage multiple Gmail accounts and receive new mail notifications. Displays your account details including unread messages, saved drafts, spam messages, etc. Quite useful if you have several Gmail accounts.
  • Gmail Google Calendar sidebar - Adds a sidebar to Gmail that displays your upcoming events/appointments from Google Calendar. Useful for me since I add all my advertising expiration dates to the calendar so it’s good to see them instantly.
  • Gmail Multiple Signatures - Inserts signature above any quoted messages and also applies different signatures for writing Gmail messages when different From: address is chosen. Since I have several websites and different emails for each, this is a huge time saver!
  • Send To Gmail - With one click, you can back up any file you want from your computer to your Gmail account.
  • GMail Real Estate - Don’t like the ads, navigation bar or the header? With this you can disable 3 of them.

Don’t tell me that you aren’t afraid of loosing all your files. Everyone is afraid of that. And it’s even worse if you have a company…

So, if you are looking for an Online Storage service for your small business, you might consider IBackup.com.

They offer online backups for Windows, Linux / UNIX, MS SQL, Exchange Server, Web manager and other services. That also include interactive and automatic scheduling of backups with compression during transmission, incremental/full backups, encryption, synchronization, open file support for MS SQL Server and Exchange Backups.

They also offer online storage that includes services like Snapshots, Network Drive, Sharing, Collaboration, Sub-Accounts, WebFolders and Mobile Access. And all that with the lovely drag-n-drop and sharing features which also means that you can access your files anywhere.

Get more traffic with BloggingZoom

Written by Malin on November 4th, 2007 -

BloggingZoom
I’m sure you have heard about it but it’s quite new. People claimed to get a little more traffic when submitting their own posts to BloggingZoom so I joined up and submitted one of my posts from Infektia.net yesterday. And without even linking to the voting page or telling people about it, I got “zoomed” 11 times and also received 3 comments! It was a nice surprise when I logged in this evening! I didn’t expect anything at all! That also means that I got in to the “Top Today” list.

One thing that I don’t like about BloggingZoom is that on every post you submit, you have to write a 350 characters description for each one. I think it’s a bit too much, it’s almost like a blog post in it self. 250 would be better. But I think it has a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see how it goes when it gets more attention.

Try it out for yourself! Join and then add me as your friend!
