How to find out your TLA affiliate link

Written by Malin on January 14th, 2008 -

If you are a member of Text Link Ads you might want to put up a button or a text link with your affiliate link. But unfortunately TLA’s own JavaScript affiliate code doesn’t work everywhere. It didn’t work for me in WordPress.

So what I did was that I created a new HTML file, copied and pasted the affiliate code from TLA and then saved it on my computer. Then I opened the HTML file in a browser (Firefox), I right clicked the link and chose "Copy link location" (in Internet Explorer you can right click and then choose "Copy Shortcut"), and then I was ready to paste the real URL anywhere I wanted it to be.

But remember, the reason TLA use the JavaScript code is because to protect it from the almighty Google, since you can get slapped by them for selling links on your website.

Ashop Commerce - What is it?

Written by Malin on January 7th, 2008 -

If you want to start a shop online one of the first things you need to do is to find a shopping cart software. I don’t think you will succeed and have your business to grow if you don’t find shopping cart script or payment solution.

Ashop Commerce is a world-class provider that offers a shopping cart software that it easy for everyone to handle. You don’t have to know any programming to set it up or style it. You don’t have to worry about hosting since they can include that in your package too.
A great thing is that they offer a free online test drive and also a 10 Day Free trial of their shopping cart solution so you can test all it’s neat features.

They got 4 different plans, from Light for $39.95 a month (that can be good for a small business) to Ashop Plus for $189.95 a month for big businesses.

I think Ashop Commerce is the ultimate ecommerce solution for people that want to succeed with their online shop.

6 Favorite Gmail Scripts and Tools

Written by Malin on January 7th, 2008 -

Gmail

Even if I kind of have a hate/love relationship with Google, I just can’t let go of Gmail. It’s the best free email service I have ever tried. And what makes Gmail even better are all those Greasemonkey scripts and tools for Firefox that makes the Gmail experience delicious. Here are my 5 favorite Gmail scripts and tools:

  • Better Gmail 2 - A compilation of the best Greasemonkey enhancements for the NEW Gmail interface, compiled into one extension. If you are still using the old interface you might want to try Better Gmail 1.
  • Gmail Manager - Allows you to manage multiple Gmail accounts and receive new mail notifications. Displays your account details including unread messages, saved drafts, spam messages, etc. Quite useful if you have several Gmail accounts.
  • Gmail Google Calendar sidebar - Adds a sidebar to Gmail that displays your upcoming events/appointments from Google Calendar. Useful for me since I add all my advertising expiration dates to the calendar so it’s good to see them instantly.
  • Gmail Multiple Signatures - Inserts signature above any quoted messages and also applies different signatures for writing Gmail messages when different From: address is chosen. Since I have several websites and different emails for each, this is a huge time saver!
  • Send To Gmail - With one click, you can back up any file you want from your computer to your Gmail account.
  • GMail Real Estate - Don’t like the ads, navigation bar or the header? With this you can disable 3 of them.

Get paid to blog with Smorty

Written by Malin on January 7th, 2008 -

There are several paid to post sites on the net, and besides PPP, Smorty is one of the best there is. Both registered advertisers and bloggers will get benefit and profit from their service. Advertisers can advertise on blogs and get the word out for their services and products and the bloggers get cash.

This is the second blog I have added to Smorty and I am very happy with their opportunities, that always starts at $6 and I have been paid several times with in a week, instead of having to wait 30 days for payment on other sites. Signing up and adding your blog is really easy, you don’t have to wait very long to get it approved (or unapproved).

In order to get approved by Smorty, your blog should be maintained with at least two postings per week on average, receive some traffic, be at least three months old and it should be indexed by Google.

So give Smorty a try and get paid for blogging! You won’t regret it!
