5 plugins you can’t live without!
Written by Malin on August 22nd, 2007 -The most wonderful thing with WordPress is the wide range of plugins you can add. And you can get them to do almost everything for your blog. Here are 5 WordPress plugins that I can’t live without!
- WP-DBManager - This plugin is for more advanced users. With this plugin you can optimize, repair, backup, restore, delete backups, drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Very useful!
- SRG Clean Archives - I look at my archives quite often and I think it’s good to have a useful and clean looking archive! This plugin will do the trick!
- PlugInstaller - With this plugin you don’t have to download a plugin, upload it to your FTP server and unpack it manually. All you have to do is to add plugin URL in the admin and you’re all set. It will also make your plugin page look cleaner.
- Exec-PHP - Allows PHP tags inside the content or excerpt of your posts and pages to be executed just as in usual PHP files. Useful if you want to write tutorials and want to show your visitors your PHP coding.
- All in One SEO Pack - To get search engines to like us more - this is the tool for the job!
I have many more favorites I thought I could share later. Which plugins can’t you live without?

Free online file sharing!
Written by Malin on August 21st, 2007 -Sometimes you need to send large files to someone, bigger than your email account allows. But with a service called Driveway, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Driveway is a free file sharing utility that allows you to send files of sizes up to 500MB! You don’t even need to register to use their service. You can even upload whole folders!
After you have uploaded a file you will be given a “park-it†link that gives you the opportunity to access the file/s anywhere. And if you provide your email address you will have the opportunity to have the ‘Download’ and ‘Delete’ links emailed to you!
If you don’t delete the file/s yourself, they will be kept for up to 90 days from the last date of access to the file.

How to do a disclosure policy
Written by Malin on August 20th, 2007 -
When joining a site like PayPerPost, they require a disclosure. Sometimes the advertisers just want a site wide disclosure and not a post disclosure.
You don’t have to sit and write one yourself. All you have to do is to surf to DisclosurePolicy.org and follow their 6 simple steps and their generator will create one for you.
And when you’re done, you just copy the text, create a new page (or post) and paste it there, and save. Then you can place a link to your disclosure in your sidebar, navigation, or footer. Or you ca use one of their badges!

Simple and painless!

Cactuus is now a member of PPP!
Written by Malin on August 20th, 2007 -Cactuus is now a member of the most widely know paid to post program, PayPerPost. Since almost everyone I know online is a member, I feel that I have to be to. I’ve heard mostly good things about them.
When you join PayPerPost, not only will you earn money for what you like to write about, you will also discover a lot of new websites, and if you join their forums, you will also get to know tons of new people and their blogs. PayPerPost is quite a close community. If you have a problem, there is always someone who will help you out.
So what will I do with the cash?
Well, there are always bills to pay, and it’s nice to have an extra income! I’m not exactly living on the edge, but you can never have too much cash right? With time, maybe I can save up to that digital camera I want. One of those big ones, a Canon or a Nikon I think it will be. If I had one of those I would take pictures everyday!
So hopefully, with time, my page rank and Alexa rank will improve so I will have the chance to grab some bigger opportunities!

Problems with Bloggerwave
Written by Malin on August 18th, 2007 -You know what Bloggerwave is? Well it’s a paid to post/review site, just like PayPerPost.
My domain only ranks as a half star in their system and I have searched all over for an explanation on what they base their rankings on. I have only done one assignment (writing about their own service) and I got paid, even though their problems with delayed payments and problems with Paypal. But I never see new assignments available. I wonder if their “TOP DOG BLOGGERS†are imaginary numbers and just bullshit.
The site overall needs some heavy work done to it’s functionality. I have also noticed that their so called contact page is out of order, sort of. I would have wanted to contact them and ask about the ranking system, and no, I’m not that eager to contact them that I will digg up their domain name registration and everything. I rather leave it alone and forget about them.
